NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Outgoing Free National Movement Chairman Carl Culmer revealing which candidate for chairman he’ll be backing in the party’s convention later this month.

He sat down with Tanya Cartwright.

In just over two weeks, members of the Free National Movement will come together for the party’s national convention to select a new slate of officers.

Last November, the FNM held a one-day convention to elect a new leader, after much ado was made about replacing then leader, Dr Hubert Minnis, who led the party to defeat at the polls months earlier.

The OurNEWS team had a sit down with the outgoing party chairman Carl Culmer who surprisingly endorsed one candidate for chairman, saying that candidate is clearly the best choice.

Four contenders nominated for party chairman; Dr Duane Sands, Michael Foulkes, Elsworth Johnson and Collin Ingraham.

Ingraham has since dropped out, wanting to focus more on his demanding business.

Culmer set out the qualities he believes should be found in the new FNM chairman.

Culmer says the party is ready for the convention slated to begin February 23rd when for the first time ever, it will hold virtual meetings with party officials.

Stakeholders will only come together on the last day for an in-person vote.
