NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Free National Movement leader Michael Pintard anticipates the FNM will come together following its June 1st convention amid talks of a clear divide within the party.

Since he was elected party leader back in 2021, it wasn’t an easy road for the Pintard-led team who sometimes faced pushback from factions within the party that still supported former Prime Minister Dr. Hubert Minnis.

Dr. Minnis led the FNM to a crushing defeat in the 2021 general election and was ousted as leader shortly after.

Former FNM cabinet minister Brent Symonette blames Minnis for the party’s election loss.

Chairman Dr. Duane Sands has said Dr. Minnis will not win at the next convention.

Pintard believes he has done enough to secure his re-election.

He believes his leadership has been an improvement from what they’ve had in the past.
