NASSAU, BAHAMAS – What started as a night of fun with friends ended in gunfire after Deiondre Demeritte was gunned down in a crowded nightclub.

This footage from the deadly shooting was leaked and has spread like wildfire on social media. It shows the victim dancing in the club moments before a gunman shot him several times.

The shocking shooting happened as dozens of innocent clubgoers were standing nearby.

Harbour Island resident Bishop Samuel Higgs says he’s shocked about tragedy has hit their community.

Harbour Island is a popular destination for visitors.

That fact is not lost on Bishop Higgs who hopes the murder doesn’t have an impact.

In response to the recent crime spike, the church has taken a stand something the Harbour Island agrees with.
