EXUMA, BAHAMAS – There’s still time to get to that long overdue well-deserved vacation, and you don’t need a passport to get there. Summers should be the right mix of relaxation and fun. We found both in Exuma.

So here’s the thing, when planning, spend some time search for the not-so-obvious choices.

For us, it was Staniel Cay. With twice daily flights on Flamingo Air, it’s a quick 30 – 40 minute ride. While you may be thinking Airbnb, small Family island hotels have a charm and familiar
kind of service you can’t find staying on your own. It was the Embrace Resort on Staniel Cay for us, a family-owned business with management and staff who felt like our very own family.

No matter where you stay in Exuma, the swimming pigs are a must.

There are so many other seaborne options to choose from. It really comes down to whether you like the animals, nature trails or hikes, snorkelling, diving, or just swimming.

There’s bonefish, deep-sea fishing or catching a few for lunch.

If you’re the nostalgic, fine dining and lodging type, then the famous Staniel Cay Yacht Club is more your money pick.

Not into the frivilous vacation spots? Are you more of a nature person, looking for the eco-tourism experience? Exuma is your spot, from ATR rides to tours to the National
Park System, it’s an Eco-Torust’s dream.

Don’t forget your camera phone as some of the most popular social media spots are right here, the pigs at pig island, Iguanas at Isuana island, the James Bond Thunderball Grotto, and the sharks at Compass Cay, all world renowned for instagram shots.

Isn’t it time you got your shot this summer?
