NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Opposition Leader Michael Pintard and Prime Minister Philip Davis going head to head in parliament over government’s assertion that there was a $1 billion dollar difference between numbers provided by the previous administration’s pre-election report.

The issue was brought up during debate on the 2023/2024 Budget Debate at the end of a contribution.

Pintard sought to set the record straight.

This isn’t the first time the issue was brought up in parliament.

The Free National Movement has denied government’s claim.

The back and forth boils down to a difference in interpretation between both administrations. Pintard’s comments prompted the prime minister to stand to his feet. He says Pintard’s comments were disingenuous.
