UNITED STATES – After a slow start to his second season with the Arizona Complex League, Texas Rangers prospect Rashawn Pinder is heating up.

From Opening Day through May 22, Pinder hit just .182, collecting six hits, nine RBI, and no home runs. But now, the 18-year-old outfielder has caught fire at the plate.

Since May 22, he’s been one of the hottest bats in the ACL.

During that stretch, Pinder is hitting .444 with 12 hits, five home runs, 12 RBI, and five multi-hit games.

His latest long ball came Monday when he launched a two-run homer in the ACL Rangers’ 4-3 win over the ACL Padres, continuing a surge that began with a two-homer performance and has only gained momentum since.

The recent power explosion has already helped Pinder surpass his home run total from his first professional season, and he’s on pace for career-best numbers across the board.

Jazz Chisholm Jr. kept the hits coming, but the New York Yankees could not keep pace with the Cleveland Guardians in a 9-4 loss Tuesday night at Yankee Stadium.

Chisholm finished 1-for-4 at the plate, while the Yankees were limited to eight hits as Cleveland pulled away with five unanswered runs over the final five innings.

Despite the loss, Chisholm continues to turn his season around. Entering the game, he was batting .239 with six home runs, 14 stolen bases, and a .699 OPS.

The Yankees fell to 36-24 on the season, second in the American League East, while the Guardians improved to 35-27 and strengthened their hold atop the American League Central.
