NASSAU, BAHAMAS – While no official announcement has been made yet on a rate increase at the National Insurance Board, Prime Minister Philip Davis says the idea is not entirely off the table.

The ongoing issue of immigration has dominated national headlines in recent weeks and has led to numerous protests over what some groups are calling an immigration crisis.

This as Haitian migrants are trying to escape a humanitarian crisis that’s been ongoing since the assassination of its President Jovenel Moise back in 2021. Davis says his government is doing its best to deal with the issue.

More than that, the prime minister says the Caribbean community does not have the capacity to deal with Haiti’s crises at this time and needs help and support from the international community.

Earlier this week the Opposition challenged ruling government members in parliament to answer questions about pressing issues, following another delay of the question and answer day.
