KIGALI, RWANDA – Prime Minister Philip Davis wrapping up a full day of activities today at the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in Kigali, Rwanda.

The Prime Minister was the featured guest at a major forum but also found time to speak with the Bahamian media – discussing some issues he intends to bring to the floor when he speaks tomorrow.

As a first-time CHOGM participant, Prime Minister Davis is keeping a busy schedule in Rwanda.

The Bahamas Government’s delegation is navigating discussions on everything from youth empowerment to gender equality and climate change, but all eyes are on the forum on business.

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, Prime Ministers from the Caribbean, including Prime Minister Davis, along with heads of some of the world’s leading financial institutions, are scheduled presenters.

At Tuesday’s opening Prime Minister Davis was the guest of honour to host leader, Rwanda’s President Paul Kagame.

As Prime Minister Davis prepares to take the stage at the business forum, it’s against the backdrop of a combined country GDP of $13 trillion, accounting for 2.5 billion people, or 1/3 of the world’s population.

Now more than ever there is an urgency to act, as this year’s theme charges member states to work on “Delivering on a Common Future”.
