NASSAU , BAHAMAS – Under the bright Bahamian sun, Rawson Square came alive on Wednesday morning for the National Flag Raising Ceremony, officially kicking off the country’s 53rd Independence season.

The Ministry of Tourism, in conjunction with the Ministry of Culture, Arts and Heritage, led the ceremony, joined by the Royal Bahamas Police Force Band and proud citizens.

As the flag rose high, Bahamians dressed in aquamarine, gold and black gathered to celebrate the nation.

Together, they reflected the theme of moving forward, upward and onward as one nation, one people, one Bahamas, while celebrating the country’s heritage and shaping its future.

Culture Minister Leslia Miller-Brice, while marking her first Independence season in the role, highlighted how the national flag is deeply connected to the country’s traditions, artistry and heritage.
