NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The Royal Bahamas Police Force getting 20 new 2023 Ford Explorer Hybrid Interceptors to add to its fleet, along with two fire trucks – a gift from the United States Embassy.

Prime Minister Philip Davis says the cars are needed to add capacity. This isn’t the first set of set of donations from the US Embassy to our law enforcement agencies. Late last year, the embassy donated 32 ford interceptors.

US Charge d’Affaires Usha Pitts says the donations were a direct result of the devastation left by hurricane Dorian which badly damaged the infrastructure on Abaco and Grand Bahama.

She said the hope is the vehicles will provide citizen security for people living on the island.
