NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A magistrate has delayed sentencing for a 23-year-old man, pending the outcome of a psychiatric evaluation.

Tyrone Williams admitted that he indecently assaulted the 34-year-old cashier when he appeared before Assistant Chief Magistrate Carolyn Vogt-Evans.

On April 19, Williams went into a petty shop on Yamacraw Road and asked for a hot patty.
As he was being served, Williams came behind the cash register and touched the woman’s breasts.

Vogt-Evans ordered a psychiatric report to assist with sentencing after Williams’ lawyer Joel Seymour said he had previously been treated for mental illness.
As a result, Williams was remanded to the Sandilands Rehabilitation Center for an evaluation.
The matter has been adjourned to May 6.
