EXUMA, BAHAMAS – The Aircraft Accident Investigation Authority on the ground in Exuma today after a Piper PA-23 aircraft with two people on board crashed shortly after takeoff from the Exuma International Airport.

A plane crash on the island of Exuma ending with “good news” after the two people onboard escaped with their lives.

Employee for Western Air and Delta, Anthony Winder says he was in the middle of a conversation with a pilot when that pilot noticed that the aircraft was flying rather low.

Winder says response time was immediate, and from what he saw, he believes it was a private aircraft involved in the crash.

Both passengers were able to exit the aircraft safely.

The AAIA was dispatched to the island for investigations.
