NASSAU, BAHAMAS – For college students, spring break is a time for fun and adventure and for water sports operators, it’s one of the busiest times of the year.

Whether it’s jet ski riding, parasailing or other forms of water fun, the safety of spring breakers is top of mind for these business owners.

Renrick Rolle Jr., owner of Action 242 Water Sports, says this time of year, they’re especially careful.

He recounted an incident where two American women claimed they were sexually assaulted in Grand Bahama last year February.

He says it was a wake-up call for those in the industry.

Rolle says it’s important to be responsible, a message he makes clear to his workers.

Adding that they have to be on guard, protecting not just their customers, but also themselves and their country’s reputation.
