NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Independence celebrations saw a violent turn of events when a brawl on Bay Street sent Junkanoo performers and onlookers running.

Marlena Leonard has an exclusive with a witness who saw it all and an update on the officer who stepped in.

Monday’s Independence Day rush out was the first full-scale Junkanoo parade since the pandemic, but what should’ve been a happy scene ended up being a crime scene.

Shortly before 7am, a large fight broke out. This witness, who wants to remain anonymous, sharing his account of the bloody brawl.

That police officer has since been treated and discharged from the hospital.

According to police, no arrests have been made.
