It was early Tuesday morning that the Our News room received reports of another fire in the International Bazaar located in Freeport.

A huge portion of the once thriving shopping and entertainment center was fully engulfed in flames. Onlookers were asked to move by law enforcement officials  as fire crews tackled the blaze.

Assistant Superintendent of Police and Fire Chief Eli Ariscar describing the scene as…

The fire chief confirming that the flames spread to all of the structures located in the west side of the International Bazaar.

As for what may have caused the fire? Police suspect the fire may have been accidentally started.

Ricardo Dean, owns a wood carving business in the bazaar. He says the incident is unfortunate and believes that the bazaar should be either cleaned up or demolished.

As for whether or not businesses in that affected area by the fire can continue to operate, the fire chief responded that that is an issue for the Grand Bahama Port Authority and licensing agencies.
