Murder Suspect Granted Bail on Gun Charge

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A man on bail for a 2020 shooting murder has been granted bail again— this time on a gun charge. 

Police arrested 33-year-old Luckson Charite on December 1 after they allegedly caught him with a loaded 9mm pistol.

Charite denied the accusation at his arraignment before Chief Magistrate Joyann Ferguson-Pratt and was granted $8,000 bail.

His trial is set for February 2023.

At the time of his arrest, Charite was on bail for the February 29, 2020 murder of 24-year-old McKenzie, who was shot in the head while standing outside the Angel HQ Sports Bar at Market Street and Palm Tree Avenue around 1:00am.
