EXUMA, BAHAMAS – Residents and businesses of Little Exuma and Baraterre are about to see a long-standing issue resolved. The Water and Sewerage Corporation announced that piped water will be coming to these areas for the first time ever.

Contracts worth 9 million dollars were awarded to two companies, who were tasked with supplying new water distribution and transmission systems to the areas.

The new infrastructures will see some 425 homes and businesses in Little Exuma connected as well as 130 connections in the the Alexander and Baraterre communities.

Deputy Prime Minister and Member of Parliament for the Exumas and Ragged island Chester Cooper says this signing is personal.
