Eight Schools In Guyana To Reopen Late

GUYANA – Students from eight schools across Guyana not returning to class today for the start of the new school year.

In a memorandum, the country’s chief education officer explained “Contractors at the schools were unable to complete their tasks.

Officials say seven of the eight schools will open next week and arrangements will be made for any instructional time lost”.

The education officer added that government has invested heavily in the education system as over 1,100 schools received some level of infrastructural improvement.
