NASSAU, BAHAMAS – There was a new production crew and anchor team in the Our News studios as the junior communication students of Genesis Academy spent the morning with the Our News production team learning what goes into filming a newscast.

The students were split into rotating teams, each getting the chance to experience roles like camera operating, floor directing, technical directing, and even anchoring.

Eighth grade student Tatum Richardson was surprised by the work that goes into making things happen in master control.

Thirteen-year-old Ricardo Smith got to experience roles both in front and behind the camera, practicing camera operating as well as his own turn in the anchor’s seat.

Their instructor, Moya Thompson, says being able to provide the class this kind of experience is a blessing.
