Russian Warships In Cuba Are No Threat, US Says

CUBA – US officials have downplayed the arrival of four Russian naval vessels, including a nuclear-powered submarine and a frigate, in Cuba for military drills on Wednesday.

Anchored at Havana Bay, 90 miles from Florida, the visit is seen as a show of force amid Moscow’s tensions with the west over Ukraine. The Pentagon stated that while the exercises are taken seriously, they do not pose a threat to the US.

Russia’s defense ministry confirmed that the vessels, equipped with advanced weapons like hypersonic missiles zircon, conducted missile drills in the Atlantic.

However, Cuba’s foreign ministry assured that none of the vessels have nuclear arms on board.
