NEW YORK, U.S.A – Twenty years ago, the New York Yankees became the first team in baseball history to surrender a 3-0 lead in the MLB Playoffs.
With their season on the line tonight, Jazz Chisholm Jr and the Bronx Bombers have to hope that history is in their favor this time around – and that the comeback starts in game four.
The Yankees now trail the Los Angeles Dodgers 0-3 in the 2024 world series.
The dodgers took game three 4-2 last night at yankee stadium in new york.
Chisholm went 0-4 but the entire Yankees lineup has struggled through the series thus far, batting just .186.
The Yankees hope to stave off elimination in game four tonight, with first pitch set for 8:08 pm.
Luis Gil will get the start for the Yankees and it is expected to be a bullpen game for the Dodgers.
The Yankees are the 41st team to fall behind 3-0 in a best of seven series, but there hasn’t been a series sweep in the fall classic since 2012.
