NASSAU, BAHAMAS – With 50 years in ministry under her belt, Bishop Helen McPhee has overcome many obstacles, paving the way for women in church.
Sister Mac as she was affectionately known in her early days recalls how the status quo wasn’t enough for her.
In those days, women were only a part of the prayer bands, the choir and the mothers.
So she eventually stepped out and attended bible college and international ministry opportunities abroad.
Sister Mac eventually became, Minister McPhee, who turned into Evangelist McPhee, Elder McPhee, Overseer McPhee and now the first women-ordained bishop in The Bahamas.
She is the founder of Agape Church, the Cathedral of Love.
She shares what it’s like to see prominent women in ministry today, standing on her sacrifice.
On this International Women’s Month Bishop McPhee is admonishing women to be bold and militant.
