NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The “Color, class and colonialism: 50 years and counting” Conference will take place in Grand Bahama at the Rand Nature Center on May 17th, 18th, and 19th, where Bahamian scholars, artists and thinkers will gather to discuss the nature of our nationhood and the future of our country.

Director of antiquities, monuments & museums corporation, Dr. Christopher Curry will be speaking on the concept, and consequences, of national identity.

Topics include whiteness as ‘other’ in the construction of Bahamian national identity, decolonizing education, the Bahamian theological pilgrimage, as well as Dr. Niambi Hall Campbell Dean, Chair of the The Bahamas National Reparations Committee, presenting the case for reparations.

Executive Vice President and Campus President of UB North, Dr. Ian Strachan gives us a taste of what she will bring to the talks.
