NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A man accused of committing two new offenses while on bail for attempted murder will remain behind bars after a judge refused to grant him bail.

Prosecutors say Aljaron Stubbs and an inmate conspired to kill homicide detective Sergeant Raphael Miller on March 13.

Stubbs is also charged with the February 10 murder of Jorge Cuevas, who was gunned down on West Bay Street after leaving his home.

Stubbs was on bail on allegations that he and others opened fire on an occupied police car in an attempt to kill Sergeant 2185 Seymour and PC 3814 McKenzie on April 30, 2022 when he allegedly reoffended this year.

He was remanded to prison on March 20, 2023, after making an initial appearance in the Magistrate’s Court.

Stubbs’ bail application was refused by Senior Justice Bernard Turner.
