NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Junkanoo Summer Festival is back around the islands of The Bahamas! Here on New Providence, the festival kicked off at Arawak Cay and was an amazing display of culture from start to finish.

It was a night of celebrating Bahamian culture, filled with live music and dancing, Bahamian food and drinks and even the iconic plaiting of the maypole.

Minister of Tourism and Acting Prime Minister Chester Cooper, says this relaunch signifies the return of festivals and fun while providing a much needed economic boost to local entrepreneurs.

Cooper noting that the summer festival will be happening throughout the country.

Minister of Youth Sports and Culture Mario Bowleg, also in attendance stirring up some Bahamian pride as the country prepares to celebrate its Independence Day. The evening culminating with the greatest show on earth, a Junkanoo rush out featuring One Family,
