Our newsroom has been flooded with photos and videos from Grand Bahamians showing traces of oil on various beaches on that northern island.
Our northern Bahamas cameraman Rorey Storr also captured footage of oil coating seaweed, sand and debris.
Visitors also showed oil on their swimsuits and feet.
Business owner Bernadette Whitfield shared her encounter with a few tourists.
Our News caught up with Chairman of Save The Bays Joseph Darville on Fortune Beach.
He says he believes the oil came from a ship adding that the penalty should be high for the offender.
