PARAMARIBO, SURINAME – Prime Minister Philip Davis meeting with the United Nations Secretary General earlier today to discuss issues plaguing small island developing nations such as The Bahamas. He spoke with Bahamian media just after a briefing this morning and provided some insight as to what he would be advocating for.

Prime Minister Philip Davis speaking to the media just before heading into a meeting with the United Nations’ Secretary General Antonio Guterres today. That meeting came before the official ceremonies for the 43rd regular Meeting of Caricom Heads of Government being held in Suriname.

The Prime Minister gave us details on the predominant issues on his agenda. There was a change in schedule so the Prime Minister addressed the opening ceremonies of CARICOM today. He was originally expected to address the assembly tomorrow.

It is now expected that the Prime Minister will leave Suriname to head back home to be able to attend the swearing in ceremony for incoming Police Commissioner Clayton Fernander on Tuesday.
