NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A disturbing trend is unfolding, as police are reporting a number of stolen vehicles in recent weeks. Tonight, the Public Affairs and Communication Officer of Police is shedding more light on the issue and is urging residents to remain vigilant.

A number of vehicles have been stolen across New Providence within the past several weeks.

Public Affairs and Communication Officer Chief Superintendent Chrislyn Skippings says armed gunmen are being are approaching residents as they arrive home.

She says several vehicles were recovered over the weekend.

Now, the chief superintendent is encouraging residents to be vigilant while driving at home, especially at night. She adds that there are several types of vehicles that are being targeted.

Chief Superintendent Skippings telling parents of criminals that they too play an important role in fighting crime.
