UNITED STATES – A coalition of TikTok creators announced on Tuesday it has taken legal action in U.S. Federal court to halt a law signed by president Joe Biden, which could force the app’s divestiture or ban it altogether.

They argue that tiktok is vital for self-expression and community building.

The lawsuit, seeking injunctive relief, contends that the law threatens free speech and disrupts a significant mode of American communication.

This follows a previous lawsuit by TikTok and its parent company, ByteDance, citing violations of the U.S. Constitution, including infringements on first amendment rights.
