NASSAU, BAHAMAS – If you’re in need of assistance with home repairs the Davis administration is looking to assist with the launch of the urban renewal revolutionized small home repairs project.

Minister responsible for Urban Renewal Lisa Rahming says the goal is to spend up to $10,000 on each home.

Two-point-six million dollars has been set aside for home repairs by Urban Renewal, according to State Minister Lisa Rahaming who says so far, hundreds have applied for the assistance.

The initiative comes as many are still on the rebound amid the global pandemic and as the Atlantic Hurricane season is nearby.

She, however, could not say how many homes they’re looking to assist.

The home repairs project was initially launched under the former Christie administration.

As for the selection process, Rahming said a committee has been formed to select the homes which she said is free from political influence.

She said the cap for each home is $10,000 but said those homes that may require more won’t be turned away.

As for how you can apply, Urban Renewal Commission Vice-Chair Bishop Arthur Evans explains any eligible homeowner interested can go into any urban renewal office for applications and more information.
