NASSAU, BAHAMAS – We have 39 new doctors in the country. They took their oaths and got their robes and stethoscopes last night at Baha Mar.

The graduating class of The University of The West Indies was welcomed by an energized crowd of loved ones and congratulated by both the minister of education and the minister of health on their achievements.

Now of the 39 graduates, only four of these new doctors are men here’s Dr. Christopher Cash.

When asked what he feels may be deterring young men from pursuing medicine.

Dr. Kalere Edgecombe hopes to pursue a career in anesthesiology.

She was one of the most outstanding students of the class of 2023 and received the Dr. Cecil M. Bethel award. She tells us the journey wasn’t easy, and she often had to self-motivate.
