UNITED STATES – U.S. President Donald Trump’s new Gaza peace plan is generating mixed reactions, with some leaders expressing hope and others questioning whether Hamas will accept it.

Trump announced that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has agreed to back the U.S.-sponsored deal. The proposal calls for an immediate ceasefire to end the two-year war in Gaza and the release of all remaining hostages within 72 hours.

But Hamas officials say they have not received the written plan.

On his fourth visit to the White House this year, Netanyahu praised the agreement, saying it meets Israel’s goals, returning hostages, dismantling Hamas’ military capabilities, and preventing future threats from Gaza.

The announcement comes just days after several Western nations formally recognized a Palestinian state, a move Trump sharply criticized as a “prize for Hamas.”
