Bimini Residents: This Is Great News, We Often Get Left Behind

BIMINI, BAHAMAS – Strong reactions coming out of Bimini following news that Parliament has tabled a new boundaries report recommending the creation of two new constituencies, one of them a Bimini and Berry Islands seat.

Under the proposal, Bimini would be separated from West Grand Bahama, while the Berry Islands would no longer be attached to North Andros, making it the Bimini and the Berry Islands.

For many residents in Bimini, the move is being welcomed as a long overdue recognition for a growing island that has often felt overshadowed.

Biminites as they call themselves, believe a standalone constituency could bring sharper political focus, stronger advocacy in Parliament, and increased attention to Bimini’s expanding tourism economy.
