“ Was plenty razzle dazzle, and we still waiting for the punchline to drop. Okay. What, you know, why are you campaigning on? “

Free National Movement Chairman, Dr. Duane Sands, weighed in on the PLP’s campaign launch on Monday night.

It comes only hours after the PLP filled the the ballroom at the Baha Mar convention center with enthusiastic party supporters.

But Sands says, while the event was high on excitement and fanfare, Bahamians are still waiting to hear what the governing party plans to run on. He took aim at the party’s “Choose progress” slogan.

“ People haven’t seen any progress. Most people are asking themselves as they should. Are they better off now than they were four and a half years ago? And the answer is categorically no. Healthcare is in shambles. The economy is a mess in terms of people’s personal economy, affordability, uh, most people can’t afford to live in this country because of the Davis’ policies.”)

Sands also used the opportunity to respond to attacks directed at the FNM during the launch.

“ When you’re taking cheap personal shots, understand it’s because you have no record to defended they have no record to defend. So when you listen to the prime minister mumble and bumble, and he can’t say much, it is because he knows that this is all about a public relations exercise. Keep them enter, keep the people entertained, give them some food, give them some liquor, and, uh, maybe they will get her win or bamboozled. “

When asked to rate the governing party’s progress over the last four years the FNM chairman gave this response.
