CUBA – Cuba is facing a deepening energy crisis, with millions of people now experiencing more hours without electricity than with it each day.

This comes as repeated collapses of the national power grid disrupt daily life across the island.

Officials say the outages are also triggering a widening communications blackout, with mobile service and internet access failing during power cuts.

The country’s electrical grid has collapsed multiple times in March alone, leaving large portions of the island without power for days at a time.

Authorities blame fuel shortages and aging infrastructure, while also pointing to U.S. sanctions that have limited oil shipments to the island.

The crisis is now affecting more than 10 million people.
