MIAMI, UNITED STATES – Miami came alive during The Best of the Best Music Fest on Memorial Day weekend, featuring some of the Caribbean’s most prominent artists.

Beenie Man, Skeng, Shaneil Muir, Tifa Capelton, Sizzla and more, including Bahamian artist Jay Shepherd, all performed at one of the largest Caribbean music festivals in North America on Sunday.

The event was presented by Grabba Leaf, which featured flags from every corner of the region.

As our Denielle Miller watched the crowd of more than 10,000 attendees, she noticed the rise in Bahamian flags compared to last year, which was striking.

“Well just to enjoy a good time, get back into our culture and just hear good music, and to see Sizzla Kalonji.”

Throughout the day, rain showers occurred, but they didn’t dampen the atmosphere.

In fact, they enhanced a sense of freedom as the rhythms of our cultures resonated in the air.

The large crowd celebrated almost until midnight, and according to a dancehall superstar, Best of the Best was the ideal event to kick off the summer season.

Spice – International Recording Artist

“I’m not performing but I’m here to support. But I also have a song that I’m dropping so I say you know what, my song is about being outside, let me go outside. So I have a song coming out on Friday called volcano and it’s like outside, what’s the temperature, aye.”
