After being closed for two years, the government signed a heads of agreement to mark the reopening of Club Med Columbus Isle on October 22nd.

Resort owners have invested more than $5 million for this reopening and according to Senior Vice President Eileen Kett, the plan is to bring more than 15,000 international clients yearly.

She also says over 200 Bahamians will be employed.

While October is known as the slow season, Kett says bookings are looking strong.

She says airlift partners like Air Canada will bring guests from Canada while Bahamasair will bring visitors from the US, and Air Caraïbes from Europe.
