Jones and the Sun Fall to the Aces 

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Jonquel Jones and the Connecticut Sun lost game 4 of the 2023 WNBA Finals to the Las Vegas Aces on Sunday 78-71. The win makes the Aces the 2022 WNBA champions.

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Jonquel Jones and the Connecticut Sun lost game 4 of the 2023 WNBA Finals to the Las Vegas Aces on Sunday 78-71. The win makes the Aces the 2022 WNBA champions.

Coming off a crucial win in game 3 where Jonquel scored 20 points, Jones put up 11 points and 5 rebounds this game Her stifling defense on league MVP A’ja Wilson kept the Sun in the game not allowing Wilson a single field goal attempt in the 2nd half and holding her to 11 points all game. Jones averaged 16 points in the series to go along with 8.3 rebounds. The loss in the finals wraps up a year in which she was all WNBA 2nd team and second team WNBA all defense.

Aces’ point guard Chelsea Gray was named series MVP. She averaged 18.3 points and 6 assists to give the city of Las Vegas its first-ever major league sports championship. She scored 20 in this game making 9 of her 13 shot attempts.

With one year remaining on her contract, Jones should be all set to return to Connecticut next season barring an unexpected trade.
