NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The man accused of the murder of Queen’s College teacher Joyelle McIntosh appeared in court along with four other men charged with a gun crime on Tuesday.

Makaveli Tinker, 23, was on bail awaiting a retrial for the 2015 murder of McIntosh and the attempted murder of her son during a robbery attempt when police arrested him on the new charges.

On November 13, police executed a search warrant on a home in Kemp Road and allegedly seized an Austria Glock .40 pistol along with eleven rounds of ammunition.

As a result, Tinker, Dean Smith, Dwight Stubbs, Nathaniel Bain and Moneko Curtis were all charged with firearm and ammunition possession.

Smith pleaded guilty and the others denied the allegations at their arraignment before Magistrate Derence Rolle-Davis.

All of the accused were granted $6,000 bail, pending a status report on December 7.
