NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The Bahamas Taxi Cab Union launching another blistering attack against the transport minister saying she’s been missing in action for months.

Head of the Taxi Cab Union Wesley Ferguson says the industry is getting worse for drivers across the country, and he is calling for Transport Minister JoBeth Coleby-Davis to resign from the cabinet-appointed post.

Ferguson says one concern is an impending 50 percent increase in licensing fees for in taxi drivers.

In July 2022, Ferguson suggested a 30 percent increase. At the time, the transport minister said it had to first go to cabinet.

Ferguson said he’s made countless attempts to contact her but was unsuccessful.

However, he says the union won’t be protesting, adding the prime minister should step in.
