Man Convicted of Sex with Teen

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A 29-year-old man is behind bars awaiting sentencing after he was convicted of having sex with an underage teen. 

Walter Gray was arrested after the teen’s mother learned about their forbidden sexual relationship.

Jurors heard that Gray and the girl first had sex when he was 27 and she was 13. They had subsequent sexual encounters when she was 14.

Although the now 17-year-old victim testified that she wanted to have sex with Gray, she could not legally consent because she was under 16.

Justice Cheryl Grant-Thompson will hear sentencing arguments on February 28.
