NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Two murderers will remain in custody after the Court of Appeal upheld their convictions and sentences.

Meteor Bodie and Darius Williams were convicted in 2015 for killing Ricardo Johnson in 2014 after they broke into his home.

Bodie, whom prosecutors said inflicted the fatal stab wounds, was jailed for 50 years and Williams received a 45-year- sentence for his role as an accomplice.

At trial, both men ran a cutthroat defense and blamed each other for Johnson’s murder.

The prosecution placed both men in the area of the crime scene through tracking data from their ankle bracelets.

Williams claimed that he was in the area because he was charging his ankle bracelet.

He claimed that his out of statements to police about witnessing Johnson’s murder were coerced.

In his testimony, Bodie said he and Williams went to Johnson’s house to steal and that saw Williams stab Johnson.

The Court of Appeal affirmed the convictions after finding no merit in their appeals.
