NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Stakeholders and residents in the Gladstone Road area getting the chance to express their concerns and ask questions as government moves full steam ahead with the Gladstone Road Project.

Latero Adderley is a South Westridge resident who says he’s concerned about an uptick in traffic in the residential area.

Meanwhile, Jubilee Gardens Resident Debbie Lightbpurne is concerned about traffic being diverted into her neighborhood as a roundabout is being constructed near Aquinas College.

Lightbourne says the matter is concerning as the subdivision is home to children who walk about the community and frequent the nearby park.

But they weren’t the only ones concerned, New Destiny Baptist Cathedral Senior Pastor Bishop Delton Fernander also expressing concerns.

Fernander also questioning if the continued development of the area was taken into consideration as more churches and businesses may build in the area.

The project is expected to cost up to $30 million.

While Works and Utilities Minister Alfred Sears says funding hasn’t been secured yet, officials say they would like for work on the two-year project to begin by the end of the year.
