NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A power purchase agreement signed between the Grand Bahama Power Company and Bahamas Solar and Renewables, an independent power producer and a subsidiary of FOCOL Holdings Limited.

The signing taking place at the Pelican Bay Resort in Grand Bahama Monday afternoon.

President and CEO of Focal Holdings Limited Dexter Adderley says the agreement will see the construction of a renewable energy plant. That plant will be constructed in the industrial area on Grand Bahama and is expected to be operational in less than a year.

While Chief Operating Officer at the Grand Bahama Power Company Nikita Mullings says it is their goal to make energy cleaner.

President of the Grand Bahama Port Authority Ian Rolle says the project will create jobs and boost economic growth on the island.
