NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Friday may be the opening of the new Nassau Cruise Port, but the day may not be so grand for some of the vendors.

For  just over two years, vendors have occupied Festival Place, an area of temporary shops set up for vendors to operate before the port is constructed.

With opening day looming, some of those vendors say not everyone will reap the benefits.

And, for those that have made it into the new port, President of Festival Place Tenants Association Yvette Prince says there are a slew of critical issues they feel are not being addressed.

When questioned about the validity of their concerns, CEO and Director of Nassau Cruise Port Ltd. Mike Maura says while unfortunate, they only provided space for the “legacy operators.”
