NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Days after URCA revealed an investigation has been launched into outages at BPL, Free National Movement Leader Michael Pintard says it’s about time the authority stepped in.

In a statement last week, URCA said as the regulator for the electricity sector, URCA is concerned about the adverse effects these power outages have on national economic development and residential and commercial consumers in particular.

The FNM is hoping URCA holds the government accountable for the bad decisions regarding BPL.

As residents in new providence and on many Family Islands have experienced countless outages and in some instance load shedding, Pintard believes the service has been irregular.
