NASSAU, BAHAMAS – December 2022 is the timestamp that forever changed the life of 34-year-old Garrette Bowe.

That is when she was diagnosed with stage one cancer. Bowe recalls what it was like hearing those words, surrounded by family at the time.

Bowe, who now exudes a sense of peace as she recalls her journey thus far, says it has been a rollercoaster ride.

She admits that were some low points, particularly when undergoing chemo treatments and as a professional chef, she says losing her sense of taste was a major challenge.

And as the world comes together to recognize Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Bowe says she believes there still needs to be more sharing of information.

And to those still in the fight, she offered this advice.
