NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A 24-year-old American man is behind bars after prosecutors say an argument between him and his Bahamian father turned deadly.

Prosecutors say Mario Cash Jr. fatally stabbed his father 51-year-old Mario Cash Sr. during a fight at their home at Ventian West on New Year’s Day.

Cash didn’t have to enter a plea to the murder charge when he appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Roberto Reckley on Friday.

His court appearance came shortly after he was released from the hospital after receiving treatment for sickle cell anemia.
