NASSAU, BAHAMAS – With a new leadership team elected, Free National Movement members packed the Imperial Ballroom on closing night of its national convention.

In his keynote address, Leader Michael Pintard apologizing for decisions of the former administration that hurt Bahamians, especially party faithfuls.

In his first national convention address as party leader Pintard admitted that some were left vulnerable due to decisions of the former Minnis administration. This he says led to voters either staying home or voting against the party. At opening night, outgoing Deputy Leader Peter Turnquest said the FNM was voted out on a perception of arrogance. Pintard, who also represents Marco City in parliament, agreed that arrogance led to losses for past administrations. He pledged zero tolerance under his leadership. Newly elected Chairman Dr Duane Sands and Deputy Leader Shanendon Cartwright were also on the closing night speakers list. They will join Pintard as the party’s new leadership team, in trying to rebuild after an election defeat. It’s a job Pintard says he will keep for as long as the party will have him.
