UNITED STATES – US Billionaire Larry Connor and deep-sea explorer Patrick Lahey plan to explore the Titanic at a depth of 3,800m (12,467ft) using the triton 4000/2 abyssal explorer submersible.

This comes after last year’s Oceangate tragedy, where a sub imploded, killing five people.

Connor’s team emphasizes that their voyage will only proceed with a fully certified vessel. The pair aim to revive interest in the private submersible industry, which suffered after the Oceangate disaster. Their previous deep-sea ventures include the Mariana Trench.
